Welcome back everyone this is Rocco Baldassarre. In today’s online marketing news we’re going to talk about a lot of things that will help you optimize your online campaigns even farther. First of all we’re going to talk about Facebook.
New Facebook Ad Function
Facebook has introduced a bulk Find and Replace Function for naming campaigns, ad sets and ads. This is extremely helpful because, one of the best techniques in Facebook is to actually break down your campaigns geographically and be able to customize each single element of them. Additionally, the Find and Replace Function is a simpler way to name your campaigns because you can just simply replace the elements when you duplicate your campaigns, ad sets or ads.
Facebook Image Tool
Facebook has also introduced another change that is quite important but it has gone unnoticed. First of all, Facebook as most people know allows only a 20% of text in their ad images. In the past, by removing the text from the image it would help you get approval over an ad. If you had more than 20% of text on your ad, it would have been disapproved. Facebook has a tool that helps you define a successful ad over an ad that would probably be disapproved.
As a few weeks ago, Facebook is actually looking at the quantity of text in the image as a way to influence the deliverability of the image itself. Basically, the more text you have, the lower the deliverability rate will be. It’s very useful to have little to no text in Facebook ad images that way you can guarantee the best deliverability of your ads. This is very important to keep in mind when you have a successful product in high traffic.
VPAID Ads The Future Of Video Advertising
On top of that there are other news that have shaped the online marketing industry this week. I found something very interesting while reading about video ads; the article was talking about VPAID Ads. So a little about that, the double exchange has turned out to be very useful when you want to create very effective video ads. With VPAID Ads, you can actually develop a system where you have an ad running as a YouTube Ad for example. This ad is going to have an interactive banner which actually stops the ads from running on the click of one of the elements of the banners. By clicking on the interactive banner of the ad, it will open up a completely new experience.
Let’s imagine you’re selling a car and have a banner promoting different things, such as a 360 degree view of the car. You can actually click on the banner if we love the car enough to continue the experience. Once you click on the video banner, you will have a new window where you can explore the car better with the 360 degree view. This is very helpful for large budgets of course, but it’s one way video advertising will move forward. It’s always useful to know that these things are out there and can be used if you have the budget for that. VPAID Ads are going to be the future of video ads, so I suggest you all look into that.
Expanded Text Ads Research Results
Finally, I’m going to share the results of the research that we ran over the past few weeks. We tested more than 10,000 ads to figure out what elements in Expanded Text Ads worked best. As you know, Expanded Text Ads have more fields than the old text ads on Google. Instead of adding a headline and two description lines; you’re going to have two headlines and a description line of 80 characters. The two headlines will have 30 characters each instead of 25. The description line will have 80 characters in total, instead of 35 characters each, like it was with the previous Google ads.
The results of our research has shown that, the second headline actually works very well if you have a call to action in it, an additional feature or a benefit that you do not include in the description line. The description line should still be imagined as broken down in two parts. In the first headline I recommend including features or benefits of the product and in the second headline a call to action. This technique has worked out very nicely for our clients. I strongly recommend it for yours as well.
Looking forward to speaking to you next week with additional marketing news.
