If you have ever shared something important on Google+ and then wished you wouldn’t have to share anything after that so people would see the best thing first, worry no more!
Google+ launched an additional feature that allows you to make a Google+ post sticky by pinning it to the top. Twitter profiles and LinkedIn pages both have sticky posts already and it seems like Google+ didn’t want to miss out on this prominent feature.
How To Pin Google+ Posts To The Top
In order to pin a post, you must first share it the same way you would share any other post. Then click the little arrow at the top right of the post and select “pin to top”. Refresh the page to view the pinned post.
What The Pinned Sticky Google+ Post Looks Like
Besides being the first post, pinned posts are make with a label and pin icon as seen below.
It will be interesting to see whether Google+ will implement other features similar to Twitter such as equivalent to Tweet Cards. Given that the only way to advertise on Google+ is with +post ads, advertisers would surely appreciate an additional advertising method that wouldn’t require approximately 50k followers.
