There’s no way to deny that technology is all around us. It has allowed people to stay connected and with the help of social media platforms, it has allowed us to reconnect with people from our past. Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat have permitted us to stay up to date with the latest news and updates from our loved ones. Facebook recently launched a new feature that is called Facebook Live. Basically, the feature allows Facebook users to record a live video of what they are doing, where they are, or any news they want to share.
Facebook Live has proven to be quite beneficial with media outlets. News channels use the live feature as a way to provide real time updates regarding the weather, breaking news, or the ongoing presidential campaign. Basically, different types of publishers have adopted this new feature and integrated it to better connect with their audiences on Facebook.
Many of these publishers have expressed the desire to schedule their live broadcast ahead of time as a way to draw in more audiences. Last week, Facebook made this feature possible, but only for verified Facebook pages. You can schedule your Facebook Live by going into your page’s Publishing Tools.
One of the many benefits of scheduling your live broadcast is that it helps build up anticipation with your audience before going live. By creating a buzz around your scheduled Facebook live video, you will have an audience already waiting for when you’re ready to start broadcasting.
Scheduling a Live Video
First of all, to schedule a live video you must be the Administrator for the Page you want to do the Facebook Live. Then you need to go to your Publishing Tools. Once you’re in the Publishing Tools, you must select the option that says “Video Library” and then select “Live”.
The second step will be copying your stream credentials.
Third step will be to write an engaging description for your live broadcast. This description should be informative enough so that your followers will know what to expect from the broadcast.
Final step will be to schedule your broadcast date. Remember, you can only schedule a live broadcast two weeks in advance. On this step you will be able to add a custom image to your post. When you schedule your live video, an announcement will be automatically posted to your followers’ News Feed. When your fans see the announcement on their personal feeds, they can choose to receive notifications that will let them know a few minutes before you go live.
