Welcome back everyone, this is Rocco Baldassarre. In the second episode of online marketing news, we will talk about news that changed the way we would advertise our products or services online.
Automatic Currency Converters For Google Shopping
The first news is about Google. Google has launched automatic currency converters for Google Shopping. This is a beta version that launched last week. It will allow advertisers to basically change the currency of a product in Google Shopping based on the country that they will be selling to. This is very good because, it simplifies the path to conversion and makes it easier to sell thousands of products in multiple countries.
Google Launches Beta For Ad Variation
On top of that, Google has launched another very interesting beta which is Ad Variation Testing. You would be able to test multiple variations of an ad by creating it directly in the interface in AdWords. You will be changing one element and creating multiple variations of it. Then, Google will analyze the results for us and will give us a performance review to decide which variation has performed the best. This is a great step forward for Google because, testing is the way to go in online marketing and this will simplify the way we test a lot. So, thumbs up for Google for introducing this beta.
Beta Version For Click to Text Ads is Available
The third update of the week is still about Google. Google has launched another beta which is a click to text kind of ads. Basically, you will be receiving an ad and in the ad there will be the opportunity to click to send a text message. You are going to use of course, your mobile phone and whenever you’re on your mobile phone you will be able to click on an extension. This will open your instant message app on your phone and will be able to text the business. This is very good for particular businesses and it can result in traditional conversions for that.
Facebook Releases Beta For Local Shopping Ads
An additional beta that is very exciting and that has been launched by Facebook. This beta is about local advertisers, which have a huge amount of products to promote. Let’s imagine, you have a large retail store and you want to promote all of the available products in stock. Facebook allows you to create a feed of available products and automatically advertise them. This feed can be automatically updated to promote only the available products to people in your target locations. As you can imagine, this is a beta that is being tested with only large advertisers. It won’t surprise me that Facebook will make it available to the public in just a few weeks.
Twitter Changes The 140 Character Limit
Finally, Twitter has removed the image and videos from the word count in their tweets. Now you can have longer tweets with your images and video.
Very exciting things have happened this week and we can only imagine what’s going to be happening over the next seven days. We are entering high season for online advertising. Also, with Christmas coming up I’m sure that Facebook, Google and all of the other advertising platforms out there, will launch exciting betas that we will be happy to share with you.
Thank you so much for your attention and have a great day.
