Twitter One Click Sign Up
Recently, the company MailChimp launched a email campaign focusing on Twitter’s One-Click Sign Up Feature. What is interesting about this feature is that the company is informing their customers of a tool that already existed.
In 2013, Twitter launched what it’s called today as a Lead Generation Card. Basically is a new type of promoted tweet. This card makes it easy for users to express interest in what your business or your brand has to offer, because it takes a promoted tweet and makes it actionable.
For businesses, this feature lets you expand your tweet and seek a call to action with a description. Since Twitter asks their users for a e-mail address as a way to create an account, they will auto fill the information needed when you want to do a one click sign up for a specific business or even a person.
When you think about it, the one click sign up is a really effective tool because it will remove the tedious process of filling out a form and you don’t have to go to your inbox and confirm your email address.
In order to have the Twitter card, you need to sign up as a Twitter advertiser which is free. Since you are signing up to be an advertiser, Twitter requires you to enter your credit card number into Twitter Ads, you will not be charged. After entering your credit card information in your Twitter account, you just need to go into your Twitter Ads dashboard, click on Advertising and then click set up a new card.
There you will enter all of the settings you wish to have for your card. It is important that while having a Lead Generation Card is a great tool at your disposal, don’t forget to have a backup email for people who want to sign up for announcements.
In order to have the data sent to MailChimp you need to connect your Twitter account to your MailChimp account on the integrations page. The way it will work with MailChimp is that when you create and launch your new generation card, Twitter will pass the new subscribers information to your MailChimp list, including their Twitter handle, name and email address.
Another way to set up your Lead Generation Card is to do it through MailChimp. You would go the the Lists Page and on the dropdown menu, you would select the list you want to currently work with, and you will choose the option of Signup Forms.
You will select Form Integrations, in order to continue to the next steps, you need to have your Twitter Ads account connected to your MailChimp account. In the Twitter section, you just need to type in your information into the form fields.
After entering the information for your card, you will need to insert an image for your card, the image must be 800 x 200px. After uploading your image, click submit.
Your next and final step, will be logging into your Twitter Ads account, click the creative option from the dropdown menu and then cards. Then you will compose your tweet and publish it to your feed.
