Google AdWords has launched a new feature on their AdWords Editor that wasn’t available before. This new feature allows you to automatically schedule downloads for your Google AdWords accounts. Before this update, you would have to go into the AdWords Editor and manually download all of the reports you wanted for your accounts.
The new feature is extremely beneficial for account managers because if you have a large AdWords account that takes time to download, you can now schedule the download to start at a specific time. This way, when you arrive to your office or get to your computer your report will be available right away without having to manually download it.
Another benefit of using the scheduling feature is that you can automatically schedule to download all of your accounts every 24 hours. By downloading your accounts every 24 hours, not only does it provide you with an automatic backup of all of your accounts but, in the event that you get hacked, you will have a recent backup of your accounts from the day before. This way your information won’t be completely lost and you can recover your accounts faster.
To access this feature, go into your Google AdWords Editor, on the top menu bar under “Get Recent Changes” you will now have 3 options: Basic (faster), More data (slower) and the new feature Schedule Download. If you click on the Schedule Download, you will get a pop up window that allows you to select the times you want the download to automatically start.
It’s important to remember that in order to schedule the automatic downloads, you need to be signed in into the accounts you want to schedule the automatic downloads for. If you’re not signed into the accounts, the automatic download will not be completed.
